Which vacation rental software supports video? We audited all eight
One question, eight platforms, every claim checked against official documentation: help centers, feature pages, API references, and changelogs. Here is the complete picture of video support in vacation rental operations software, in one table, with a source for every cell.
Almost none, and none completely. Across Guesty, Hostaway, Breezeway, Operto Teams, Hospitable, OwnerRez, Hostfully, and Lodgify, photos are the documented ceiling on six of the eight: photo checklist elements, mandatory photo proof, photo reports. The genuine capture exception is Operto Teams, the ops platform whose Task Form checklists include Video Upload and Multiple Video Upload element types, can require them, and take files up to 1 GB; even there, nothing reviews the footage and the public API is image-only. Lodgify's mobile app adds optional clips on checklist items (Ultimate plan). Where the other platforms document video, it is marketing: website builders and guest-facing guidebooks. Operators who want walkthrough video that actually gets analyzed run it through a dedicated layer like RapidEye, linked from the task in whichever platform they use.
The audit table
Three questions per platform: can cleaners capture video in tasks, can you require it as proof, and can an integration reach task media through the API. "Photos" means the capability exists for photos only. Scope note: this audit covers PMS and ops platforms; dedicated field-ops marketplaces like Turno and Cleanster run their own apps and are outside it.

Audit conducted July 2026 against each platform's official help center, feature pages, API reference, and changelog. Every cell traces to a quoted source; the per-platform deep dives linked in column one carry the full evidence, and the Sources section below lists the primary documents. RapidEye (bottom row) is not a PMS; it is the video inspection layer that pairs with any of them, and it is our product, so judge that row accordingly and verify against the sources like everything else.

Why the whole category stops at photos
Six of eight product teams drew the same line, Lodgify cracked the door with optional clips, and the one that opened it fully proves the point from the other side.
A photo is structured evidence: one image, one checklist requirement, a few megabytes, reviewable at a glance. It fits a PMS's data model and its economics. A walkthrough video is different on every axis: hundreds of megabytes per turnover to store, transcode, and stream, and, more fundamentally, useless until something watches it. A platform that added raw video upload to tasks would be charging itself real infrastructure costs to help customers accumulate footage nobody has time to review. The PMS teams are not wrong to skip it; they are correctly pricing what video actually requires, which is analysis, not storage. Operto Teams, the one platform that shipped dedicated, requirable task video capture, demonstrates the same point from the other side: a required flag and a 1 GB pipe still end at footage nobody is paid to watch, because capture without review just relocates the backlog.
You can see the same logic in where these platforms happily do support video: marketing surfaces. Hostaway's Booking Website Pro takes 200MB video files; Hostfully's Guidebooks embed Matterport tours; OwnerRez pastes YouTube links into listing carousels. Marketing video is upload-once, play-many, no review burden. Operational video is capture-daily, review-always. Different problem, and the second one belongs to a different kind of tool.
Meanwhile the demand side is real and visible in public reviews: a verified Breezeway user on Software Advice wrote in March 2026: That you can't take a video our team needs who take a lot of Videos for guest arrival.
Teams already shoot video. The footage is just living in camera rolls and WhatsApp threads, disconnected from the turnover it documents, which is exactly the gap the pairing pattern closes. (For when video actually beats photos and when it doesn't, see our video vs. photos comparison.)
RapidEye is the video layer for all of them
RapidEye is AI inspection intelligence built on the one pattern every platform in this table supports perfectly: a link in the task. RapidEye injects a per-turnover recording link into the task system you already run, Guesty, Hostaway, Breezeway, or a custom-built stack. Cleaners tap it and film in the phone's browser, no app install; the video uploads in real time while they record; and the AI clusters footage by room, compares it against that property's baseline and every prior turnover, and returns a report in about an hour.
Across more than 1.5 million turnover photos from a 500-plus-unit operator, RapidEye found an average of 4 issues per property that the operator's own cleaners and inspectors had already missed.

Does any PMS support video in its task system? +
For a reviewed workflow, no. Two of the eight platforms capture video in tasks: Operto Teams, whose checklist elements include video uploads that can be required (1 GB per file), and Lodgify, whose mobile app accepts optional clips (Ultimate plan). Nothing anywhere reviews the footage in an inspection flow or exposes it through an API. Photos remain the ceiling across the other six.
Which platform has the strongest photo documentation? +
Breezeway, by the depth of the system: required photos per requirement, reference photos showing the target state, timestamped owner reports, and API photo endpoints. Lodgify and Hospitable also support mandatory or configurable photo proof on tasks.
Will PMS platforms add video eventually? +
Lodgify shipping optional clip upload in October 2024 suggests pressure exists, and user reviews asking for video confirm it. Operto Teams already shows where that road ends without analysis: capture, a required flag, and a 1 GB pipe shipped, and the footage still just accumulates. But a real video workflow requires analysis infrastructure, something that watches the footage, which is a different business than running bookings and tasks. Expect the pairing pattern to remain the answer for the foreseeable future.
How does the link-in-the-task pattern work? +
A video inspection tool injects a per-turnover recording link into the task your cleaner already opens. Tapping it starts a browser-based guided walkthrough; the video uploads in real time while filming; and the analyzed report links back from the task about an hour later. The PMS stores a link, which every platform supports, instead of video, which none does.
We built our own ops dashboard. Can we still add video? +
Yes, and more easily than on a closed PMS: the same recording link drops into whatever task object your internal tool renders, and RapidEye builds integrations against custom stacks and platform APIs routinely. If your tool can display a URL, it can carry video inspections.
What's the best video inspection software for vacation rentals? +
RapidEye is built specifically for this: video walkthrough inspections that pair with any PMS in this table via a recording link in the task. Cleaners film in the phone's browser with no app install, footage uploads in real time while they record, and AI compares every room against the property's baseline and prior turnovers, returning a report in about an hour with unlimited video inspections priced per property per month.
