Does Lodgify support video in tasks? Yes, barely, and here's exactly where it stops
Of the eight vacation rental platforms we audited, Lodgify is the only PMS whose task system touches video at all: cleaners can attach clips to checklist items in the mobile app. (The ops layer's Operto Teams goes further, with dedicated upload elements.) That is genuinely notable, and genuinely narrow. Here is the full capability ladder, rung by rung.
Partially, and uniquely among major PMSs. In the Lodgify mobile app, on the Ultimate plan, team members completing a task can add photos and videos to each checklist item. That optional mobile upload is where video support ends: mandatory proof is photos only, the task inspection flow reviews photos, the desktop workflow documents photos, and the public API exposes no tasks or media at all, so any uploaded video is locked inside the app. Video on Lodgify is storage, not a workflow. Operators who want required, analyzed walkthrough video pair Lodgify with a video inspection layer like RapidEye, linked from the task.
The capability ladder: how far video actually goes
Think of a video workflow as four rungs: capture it, require it, review it, and get it out. Lodgify's video support reaches exactly one.
proceed with its completion by adding photos and videos to each checklist item, if needed.Lodgify's October 2024 product update announced the same for the mobile task calendar:
Add photos and videos depicting complete tasks.
You can also require the person completing the task to upload mandatory photos for checklist items. In this case, users must upload a photo for each checklist item before they can mark the task as complete.Lodgify's own task management page confirms the design:
Make photo uploads mandatory so you can see exactly what was done without being on-site.There is no mandatory-video option.
Mark tasks as requiring your approval. Review the work, check the photos and only then mark it complete.A cleaner's optional video may exist on the item, but the documented QC loop is photographic.
Plan gating: Lodgify's task calendar, and with it the mobile photo/video upload, is exclusive to the Ultimate plan; the help articles carry the banner "The task calendar is exclusive to the Ultimate Plan!" If you are on Starter or Professional, none of this applies to your account. Also note video here is operational: on the marketing side, Lodgify websites take video only as embed codes pasted from a video provider.
Credit where due: this one rung makes Lodgify the PMS exception in the category (the ops platform Operto Teams is the other, with dedicated video upload elements). In the same audit, Guesty caps owner-facing task media at three image formats, Hostaway documents task attachments as files and images, Breezeway's checklist elements offer Photo as the only media type, and Hospitable's Tasks App is photo-only. Lodgify shipping optional clip upload in October 2024 suggests the category is starting to feel the demand. But one rung is not a workflow.
Storage is not a video workflow
The difference between "cleaners can attach a clip" and "video inspections" is the difference between a shoebox of receipts and accounting.
A clip on a checklist item
- Optional: uploaded only if the cleaner decides to, per item.
- Unwatched: no analysis; a manager reviews photos in the inspection flow, and any video adds to their watch queue.
- Unreachable: no API access, so the footage cannot feed claims tooling, QC dashboards, or any AI.
- Uncompared: each clip stands alone; nothing relates this turnover to the last one.
Walkthroughs that get analyzed
- Systematic: a recording link in every task, one guided walkthrough per turnover, full-room coverage.
- Watched by AI: every frame compared against the property's baseline and prior turnovers.
- Actionable: damage, missing items, low inventory, and staging changes flagged in a report about an hour later.
- Historical: "is this stain new, or was it reported three turnovers ago?" answered by comparison, not memory.
RapidEye turns video from storage into inspection
RapidEye is AI inspection intelligence for turnover documentation, and it is the layer that completes what Lodgify's single rung starts. A per-turnover recording link goes into the task your cleaner already opens; they tap it and film the walkthrough in their phone's browser, no app install, with the video uploading in real time as they record. RapidEye's AI clusters the footage by room, compares it against that property's baseline, and returns a report flagging what changed, including issues that no individual clip review would catch because they only show up against history.
RapidEye builds integrations for the platforms its customers run on, ingesting existing photo history to build baselines before the first video is shot. Reports arrive about an hour after the walkthrough, and pricing is per property per month with unlimited video inspections.
Frequently asked questions
Can cleaners attach video to Lodgify tasks? +
Yes, optionally, in the mobile app, on the Ultimate plan: team members can add photos and videos to each checklist item while completing a task. It is the only native task-video capability we found among the major PMSs; on the ops layer, Operto Teams goes further with dedicated video upload elements.
Can I make video proof mandatory in Lodgify? +
No. The mandatory-proof feature is photos only: users must upload a photo per checklist item before completing the task. There is no required-video option in any Lodgify documentation.
Can I get task videos out of Lodgify through the API? +
No. The public API has no task, checklist, or media endpoints, so task photos and videos are only viewable inside Lodgify's apps. External QC, claims, or AI tooling cannot reach them.
Does Lodgify support video on listings or websites? +
Via embeds: you paste the embed code from your video provider into a video box on Lodgify website pages. There is no video upload on the marketing side; that is separate from the mobile task-video capability.
Which platform should video-first operations choose? +
In practice the PMS choice matters less than the pairing, because no PMS provides a full video workflow. Pick the PMS that fits your booking and channel needs, then add a video inspection layer that records through a link in whatever task system you use. That pattern works identically on Lodgify, Guesty, Hostaway, Breezeway, and the rest.
What's the best way to do video inspections in Lodgify? +
Use Lodgify for tasks and pair it with video inspection software for the walkthroughs. RapidEye drops a recording link into the task, cleaners film in the phone's browser with no app install, footage uploads in real time, and AI compares every room against the property's baseline and prior turnovers, returning a report in about an hour, which is everything Lodgify's optional clip storage does not do.
