Does Hospitable support video in tasks or checklists?
Hospitable's Tasks App gave cleaners photo uploads and hosts photo requirements. Video never appears, at any layer, in any document. We checked all of them, from the Tasks App down to the public API. Here is what each layer actually supports, and how operators run video walkthroughs on Hospitable anyway.
No. Hospitable's operations features have no video capability at any layer. The Tasks App documents photo requirements and uploaded photos; the legacy Task Rules checklists are text-only; guest messaging caps pictures at 2MB with no video; and the public API has no task endpoints at all, so task media cannot even be reached programmatically. The only video feature Hospitable has shipped is a hero-video option for Direct booking websites, which is marketing, not operations. Operators who want video walkthroughs put a recording link in the task instructions; a tool like RapidEye records, hosts, analyzes, and reports from there.

The one video feature Hospitable ships is not for operations. Direct booking sites can use a background hero video, a website design option. If you searched "does Hospitable support video" and landed on that changelog post, that is the feature it refers to. Even guest messaging stays photo-only: "Pictures cannot be larger than 2 MB in size."
This puts Hospitable exactly in line with the rest of the category. We ran the same documentation audit across eight vacation rental platforms, and none of the major PMSs supports a video workflow in its task system (Lodgify's optional mobile clips are the lone PMS crack, and the ops layer's Operto Teams captures checklist video that nothing reviews). Guesty syncs only JPEG, JPG, and PNG to its Owners Portal; Hostaway documents task attachments as files and images; Breezeway's checklist elements offer Photo as the sole media type. Hospitable's photo-shaped Tasks App is the category's standard ceiling, reached recently and by popular demand: the "Cleaner App: Tasks checklist" request on Hospitable's public feedback board sits at 300 upvotes with status Completed.
Why the API layer matters more than it looks
For most platforms in this series, the workaround conversation starts with the API. Hospitable is the special case: there is no task API to work around.
Because Hospitable's public API exposes no tasks, an integration cannot read your task list, cannot see uploaded photos, and cannot write anything onto a task. Every photo a cleaner uploads to the Tasks App stays inside Hospitable's walls. If your quality-control plan involves analyzing turnover documentation with anything outside Hospitable, the data cannot come from the Tasks App; it has to be captured by a tool that owns its own media from the start. That constraint, more than the missing video button, is the real architectural fact this audit surfaced.
How to add video walkthroughs to Hospitable tasks
The practical pattern is the same one used across every platform in this series, and on Hospitable it is arguably more natural, not less: the video layer lives outside the PMS, linked from the task.
